Well,wetalkedovermanymatters,thewar,thedisastersthathadbefallenZululand,andsoforth。EspeciallydidwetalkofthatnightintheValleyofBonesandthethingswehadseentheresidebyside。IaskedhimifthepeoplestillbelievedintheInkosazana-y-Zuluwhothenappearedinthemoonlightontherock。Heansweredthatsomedidandsomedidnot。Forhispart,headded,lookingatmefixedly,hedidnot,sinceitwasrumouredthatZikalihaddressedupawhitewomantoplaythepartoftheSpirit。Yethecouldnotbesureofthematter,sinceitwasalsosaidthatwhensomeofCetewayo’speoplewenttokillthiswhitewomanintheBlackKloof,Nomkubulwana,thePrincessofHeavenherself,rosebeforethemandfrightenedthemaway。

AtlengthImadeupmymindthatIwouldgoaway,forafterallwhathadItodowiththisbusinessofthedeathofCetewayo,ifintruthhewasdying?IwishedtoseenomoreofCetewayoofwhomallmyrecollectionswereterrificorsorrowful。Irosetodepart,whensuddenlyawomanemergedfromthehut。Icouldnotseewhoshewasorevenwhatshewaslike,becauseofthegloom;
