Slone\'srapturevanished。Hewassuddenlychilled。Shewasnotthere!Shemighthavebeenintercepted。Hewouldnotseeher。Thedisappointment,thesuddenrelaxation,washorrible。Thenawhite,slendershapeflashedfrombesidetheblacktree-trunkandflewtowardhim。Itwasnoiseless,likeaspecter,andswiftasthewind。Washedreaming?Hefeltsostrange。Then——thewhiteshapereachedhimandheknew。
